Ronda Rousey left a heel when she decided to take break from WWE. She was even expecting that when she came back, people would shower her with boos. Instead, fans cheered for her loud and clear as she took the Women’s Royal Rumble match like a storm.
Rousey finds her treatment as a babyface to be quite a problem. While she’s doing good with pulling in fans and viewers, she once revealed that she had plans to present herself as heel.
The WWE superstar still wants to be a heel, and she has a favorite WWE legend she’d wants to be like. While speaking during “The DC Check-In,” Rousey said that she wants to be a heel all the time. She added that Rowdy Roddy Piper is the inspiration for her.
He was the real heel though that wanted you to hate him, he wasn’t the cool guy heel that was like, ‘I want to be bad. I want to be cool. I want you to like me.’ That jacket that I wear is a replica of his jacket and is actually stab-proof because people would try to stab him. That’s what kind of heel I want to be.
The former UFC star is apparently a long-time fan of the WWE legend. Rousey even added his nickname during her MMA career as an homage to the Hall of Famer. She brought the nickname into the world of professional wrestling as well, while using the same gear.
Ronda Rousey has always radiated the heel energy during her time in WWE. She is currently slated to fight against Natalya in the upcoming premium event, WWE’s Money In The Bank. The two will fight each other toe to toe while the SmackDown Women’s Title is on the line.
