Although the 2023 Royal Rumble match is still months away, early betting odds suggest several superstars not currently on television are favored to win. Fans have come to expect betting odds for big WWE shows to start to appear online months in advance, so it’s not surprising to see these stats. One interesting, however, is that a current fan favorite is on top of the betting odds list.
According to the stats on BetOnline, Cody Rhodes is currently favored with a 5/4 chance of winning the whole thing. Right behind Rhodes is The Rock with an 11/2 chance and former WWE Champion Big E with an 11/1 chance. Funny enough, Von Wagner currently has the most minuscule odds, with a 500/1 chance of winning.
Rhodes winning the Royal Rumble may not be as surprising to some, given that Rhodes’ whole mission since rejoining WWE has been to become WWE Champion. The Royal Rumble match allows someone who’s been away for a significant amount of time to earn a massive, game-changing win heading into WrestleMania. Rhodes has experience competing in the Royal Rumble match, so it wouldn’t be too strange for him to outlast 29 other competitors to win.
The Rock, though, could present a unique challenge to Rhodes as many expect the People’s Champ to face off against his cousin at WrestleMania 39 in Hollywood. Even a recent episode of Young Rock made reference to the potential match. If there’s one person who could make a surprise return and take Rhodes’ dream away, it would be The Rock.
