Stephanie McMahon went from taking a long hiatus in WWE to being the company’s CEO in a matter of days. This morning, Vince McMahon announced that he would be stepping down from the role during WWE’s investigation into alleged improper behavior. Stephanie reached out to WWE staff to inform them of the change, and now has made a public statement as well.

Stephanie McMahon has been with WWE for most of her adult life. Many fans were shocked when she announced her indefinite leave of absence from the company. After the news about her father broke, she is now back.

Stephanie posted a tweet noting that she was excited to take on the new interim role. McMahon noted that it will only be for as long as the investigation is ongoing. She looks forward to helping the company entertain its fans around the world.

“Until the conclusion of the investigation into recent allegations, I am honored to assume the role of interim Chairwoman & CEO. I love @WWE and all it continues to do to entertain billions around the world.”

WWE announced that Vince McMahon will appear on tonight’s episode of SmackDown. They did not elaborate on what he might say. It should make for some very interesting television.

For now, Stephanie McMahon is the new CEO of WWE. What happens after that will largely depend on the results of WWE’s independent investigation into Vince McMahon’s behavior and actions. Things have never been more tense in Stamford, but the show must go on.
