NJPW held its Dominion event last night, and a lot was on the line for fans in the United States. Hiroshi Tanahashi took on Hirooki Goto with the winner getting a shot at Jon Moxley for the Interim AEW World Championship at Forbidden Door. A major title change also shook up the top of the card for the AEW x NJPW crossover event.

Tanahashi defeated Goto to earn his spot in the final of the AEW eliminator tournament against Moxley. They will face off for the interim title in Chicago. As far as the IWGP title is concerned, a victory by Jay White over Kazuchika Okada threw a major wrench into how the card will shake out.

White defeated Okada to capture the title. Last week, “Hangman” Adam Page called The Rainmaker out for a title shot. The rumored three-way involving Okada, Adam Cole, and Hangman now may involve Jay White.

Dominion saw a lot of action that has changed the course for Forbidden Door. Thus far, Moxley vs Tanahashi is the only bout set in stone. It will be interesting to see if White still goes on to face Cole and Page.

Zack Sabre Jr. also challenged Bryan Danielson after the Dominion event concluded. Sabre said he wants to prove he is the best technical wrestler in the world. The American Dragon will likely answer that call out sometime this week.

The build to Forbidden Door should start to heat up now that things have settled in NJPW. With a new IWGP champion and a major challenge thrown down, the card should start coming together soon. Time will tell what will happen with Okada and Jay White now that the championship has changed hands.
