The wrestling world is still talking about Cody Rhodes’ incredible performance at WWE Hell in a Cell. Rhodes has been receiving praise for wrestling with an injured pectoral muscle from WWE and AEW talent. It was revealed that Rhodes would need nine months to recover after successful surgery this past Thursday. However, that isn’t stopping WWE from promoting Rhodes as humanely possible.

According to Fightful, WWE has reportedly had Rhodes conduct interviews and film content regarding his injury. The report also stated that the content is for a future documentary. No word on when this documentary could air.

Although WWE stated that Rhodes was undergoing surgery Wednesday, the original Fightful report of Thursday was correct and confirmed by Brandi Rhodes. Instead, he got into Birmingham on Wednesday to prepare for the surgery. WWE also had him conduct interviews and filmed material for an eventual documentary about the injury, among other things.

Rhodes was written off television after seemingly hinting that he would compete in Men’s Money in the Bank ladder match. After walking back up the stage, he was attacked by his arch-rival, Seth Rollins. If Rhodes is expected to be out for nine months, that will put his return right around the time of WrestleMania season. Rhodes still has his eye on becoming WWE Champion, so perhaps he could make a surprise appearance in the 2023 Royal Rumble.

As for now, fans of Rhodes can at least know that his surgery went well. Now, both WWE and Rhodes’ fans are playing the waiting game.
