Darby Allin has garnered a solid fanbase due to his unique look and daredevil gimmick. Allin has worked hard to become one of the Four Pillars in the company. However, Jim Cornette has doubts over his future as a singles star.

Allin has competed in several top class matches, including those where he put his body on the line. At AEW Double Or Nothing, Darby Allin squared off against Kyle O’Reilly.

Sting was not by his side as he was taken out by O’Reilly prior to the pay-per-view. In the end, O’Reilly won the hard-fought match. While speaking on Cornette’s Drive-Thru, Jim Cornette expressed his doubts over Allin’s future as a singles star. This is due to his lack of promo skills.

“I think honestly, Darby has this charisma and you know he’s gonna hurt himself bad and be out of the business at some point, you know, way earlier than he should. But, now I think unfortunately without somebody that really has a plan, knows what they are doing to get behind him and he just can’t f***ng talk. Has he gone as far as he can go here without a really good booker doing something for him and not being able to cut promos?”

We will have to wait and see what the company will have in store for Darby Allin next. Fans might agree with Jim Cornette on this one, as he might need to work on his promo ability as well.
