Adam Page is one of the original stars of AEW and developed a deep connection with fans thanks to his solid character work. The Millennial Cowboy won the hearts of fans and it truly elevated him to the top of the company. AEW was also criticized for making his AEW World Title reign a joke.
Adam Page became AEW World Champion after finally defeating Kenny Omega last year at AEW Full Gear. However, many people did not like his reign as the champion much at all.
Page would end up losing the AEW World Championship to CM Punk at AEW Double Or Nothing. While speaking on the Jim Cornette Drive Thru, Jim Cornette criticized EAW for making Adam Page’s reign as the AEW World Champion a joke.
“They did the only thing they could do, because it was a joke. Six, seven, or eight guys in the company [are] moreover known, moreover qualified than Adam Page as the champion. They had three years, they blew it, they blew it from the start.”
Adam Page could also be squaring off against Kazuchika Okada at the AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door event. We’ll have to see whether that match ends up happening or not.
