For a long time now, WWE has made it clear that title unification will become the norm in the company. This already happened in Roman Reigns’ case, as he defeated Brock Lesnar and became the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion. WWE was also criticized for unifying the tag team titles.

As seen on last week’s episode of Friday Night Smackdown, The Usos and Team RK-Bro squared off against each other in order to determine the Unified Tag Team Champions. Ultimately, The Usos won the match thanks to some help from Roman Reigns.

While speaking on his Hall of Fame podcast, Booker T talked about WWE unifying the tag team titles. Booker T criticized the company for their decision and explained his reasoning.

“For me, I like having at least two tag team belts, one on SmackDown and one on RAW. [Booker T was then asked by host Brad Gilmore if there are enough teams on both divisions] There probably will not be enough teams but it could still give those tag teams the initiative to become tag team champion. Taking away one tag team championship and making it to where everybody got to work towards that one. Is that something’s that possible? Yeah, I think so. Honestly, I think it’s going to make it whole lot harder. Just say, for instance, we do create more tag teams, then what are we going to we do? Bring the tag team championships back?

And then what it does also is make those guys work more. They have to work on Monday night and Friday night, and they may have to work on the weekend as well.”

The Usos winning the Unified Tag Team Titles was also last minute decision. The Usos are expected to be featured on both main roster shows now. It remains to be seen how they will be booked in the coming months.
