Vince McMahon is the Chairman of WWE and has the final say in everything that goes on in the company. He is also a bizarre human being as fans know all too well by now. McMahon also seems to have inspired Ric Flair in a huge way.

During WrestleMania Night Two, Vince McMahon made his return to the ring at the age of 76. He competed in an impromptu match against Pat McAfee, shortly after McAfee defeated Austin Theory.

While speaking with WrestleZone, WWE Hall Of Famer Ric Flair talked about his return to the squared circle. The Nature Boy revealed that Vince McMahon coming back at WrestleMania 38 inspired him to make his own in-ring return.

“You know, I’ve never been happy with the way I left [his in-ring career]. When I left, after WWE, it was great, but then I had to wrestle a couple more times (Flair wrestled 16 matches for TNA Wrestling and a Hulk Hogan tour of Australia) because I was paying lawyers and paying alimony, and that’s basically the nuts and bolts of it. A lot of both, but I wasn’t happy with that at all, I wasn’t happy with myself.

Then I saw Vince at WrestleMania [38], I saw Steve [Austin] out there and it actually really inspired me. I had been thinking about it, and even though I’ve had my share of issues, I don’t have any aches or pains, if that makes sense.”

Ric Flair also addressed those fans who are worried about him stepping back into the ring again. Ric Flair will make his return to the squared circle on July 31st, it will take place as part of the huge Starrcast wrestling convention. The Nature Boy will partner up with FTR to face the Rock n Roll Express and a mystery partner. We’ll have to see how Flair will fare in the match.
