Cody Rhodes’s influence in AEW cannot be understated, as he helped out numerous young stars during his time there. This includes numerous stars such as MJF, Darby Allin and more. Wardlow has a ton of respect for Cody Rhodes and he even watches WWE just to check him out.

Cody Rhodes and Brandi Rhodes left AEW back in February and fans were utterly shocked by this. Before that, Cody Rhodes squared off against Wardlow in a steel cage match during Rhodes’ feud with MJF back in 2020. To this day, the match is regarded as one of Rhodes’ best in AEW.

While speaking on the Superstar Crossover podcast, Wardlow admitted that the only reason he watches WWE’s product is so that he can see what Cody Rhodes is doing.

“I mean, I’ll be honest, you know, I mentioned Cody, I feel like him going there has been the reason I’ve kind of watched a little bit because I got into the business late. I really don’t have that many friends.

I don’t have many friends in general, by choice. But I really don’t know that many people over in WWE, so I don’t — there’s nobody I watch on WWE that I’d know personally other than Cody. So him going back has caused me to watch a few things just to see what he’s doing over there”.

Wardlow also admitted that his rise in AEW exceeded even his own expectations. We’ll have to see how Wardlow and MJF’s feud will progress as we near AEW Double Or Nothing on May 29th. Fans can’t wait to see Wardlow get his hands on MJF.
