WALTER had a stellar run in NXT UK as he became the longest-reigning champion in modern WWE as he held the NXT UK Title for a record 870 days. He would lose the title to Ilja Dragunov at NXT TakeOver 36. He is also satisfied with his current presentation in WWE.

WWE has a habit of changing up talents names for usually no reason whatsoever. That also includes shortening the names of their talents. WALTER was subjected to this as well.

He became Gunther and now it has been a while since the name change. While speaking to Sport1 in Germany, Gunther talked about his name change in WWE. Gunther stated that he is satisfied with his presentation in the company despite his name change.

“I can say for myself that I’m satisfied with my presentation and that it’s not wrong that things are changed and that I have to leave my comfort zone a bit. Change is often seen negatively at first, but in the end, it’s simply part of life. There’s this dictum: ‘Anyone who thinks they’re already something won’t become anything anymore.’ That’s it. On the other hand, I still think that I didn’t have to change in a way that doesn’t suit me.”

It remains to be seen how Gunther will do on the main roster. Fans certainly have a lot of expectations from him for now.
