WWE hall of famer Road Dogg has shared his thoughts on Randy Orton’s recent claims that NXT talent coming up to the main roster have no idea what they’re doing. The Viper argued that NXT talent don’t protect themselves, and it’s hard to argue that across the board.

Orton’s comments came during an appearance on Pat McAfee’s podcast. He claimed the NXT talent weren’t being taught how to protect their opponents.

On a recent episode of his new podcast, Oh… You Didn’t Know, Road Dogg spoke about the Viper’s comments. The 52-year-old even agreed with them to a certain extent.

“I don’t disagree with him at all. For him to say they don’t know what they’re doing, I guess you can say that and he’s right to an extent, but they know what they’re doing. They just don’t do it perfectly yet and I don’t expect them to.

“But protecting your opponent, look, these guys get in there and hit each other hard. Now it’s not just stiff working. It’s huge stunts and flips to the floor. So you do have to protect yourself and you have to protect your opponent because at the end of the day, it is a work, it is a job, and I have to go home to my wife and children and be able to pick up my grandchildren at my age.”

Orton’s comments came after he was seemingly hurt during a match with the Street Profits on Raw.
