Kevin Owens has revealed he couldn’t wait for Tommaso Ciampa’s WWE main roster call-up, and would regularly ask him about it. Ciampa had been a staple of NXT for almost seven years, following his WWE debut back in 2015, but recently departed the brand for WWE’s main roster, much to the joy of Owens.

Appearing in the latest episode of After The Bell with Corey Graves, the 37-year-old admitted to badgering the former NXT champion weekly about his eventual call-up to the main roster.

“I asked him every week, ‘Are you called up, are you called up?’ He goes, ‘I don’t know, I don’t know.’ Then I finally was eventually told this is what’s gonna happen, you’re gonna have this thing on Raw with Tommaso once he’s officially called up. I go, ‘That’s great.’ He’s been around for several weeks now, but yeah, he and I go way back. He’s been one of my closest friends in wrestling for a very long time.”

Ciampa hasn’t really had much to do as of yet on RAW, but if the previous seven years are anything to go by, he’ll have no problem making anything he’s given work.
