Huge Spoiler On WWE’s Plan For Ronda Rousey’s Future

Ronda Rousey will take on Charlotte Flair in an I Quit match at WWE’s WrestleMania Backlash premium live event. The two women have been trying to show off who is the better woman in various challenges. Ronda and Charlotte have also taken turns beating down Drew Gulak to prove their superiority. Something’s got to give.

Ronda Rousey coming from the world of MMA with a legitimate fighting background makes it difficult to imagine that she will lose a submission match to Charlotte. Despite having a little bit of difficulty connecting with audiences, Rousey is still a huge name. WWE will want to feature her as much as possible while they have her.

On the latest Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer cited those reasons as to why it looks like Ronda Rousey will defeat Flair for the SmackDown Women’s Championship. Meltzer just can’t see Ronda, a legitimate and decorated fighter, losing to Flair in that manner.

“The thing is, I think Ronda’s getting the title. Because it would be really bad for her to lose an I Quit match. So, I think she’s getting the title. But, Lacey [Evans] as a babyface, her natural opponent is Charlotte. You know, because Charlotte is the top heel woman on that SmackDown brand. But, things can happen. Maybe that’s for down the line.”

Lacey Evans is finally getting her major babyface push. That could be a natural rivalry for Charlotte Flair, with or without a title on the line. Ronda could then move on to other opponents and create fresh feuds in the women’s division.

We will have to wait and see if Charlotte Flair does lose the title to Ronda Rousey at WrestleMania Backlash. The I Quit stipulation has painted them into a bit of a corner. That could also be seen as an opportunity to move on from the long Flair-Rousey feud and get something new on fans’ TV screens.
