CM Punk made his much-anticipated return to pro wrestling last year. Punk made his AEW debut on Rampage: The First Dance and quickly cemented his place as one of the top stars of the company.

Punk is a regular on Dynamite. The Second City Saint squared off with Dustin Rhodes in a spectacular match last week. Punk will return to AEW’s flagship show this week, this time in a different role.

Per Tony Khan, Punk will serve as the special guest commentator for Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler’s match this Wednesday. Harwood and Wheeler will wrestle each other in another round of Owen Hart Men’s Tournament qualifier.

For the first time ever, it’s a Dynamite dream match as @DaxFTR + @CashWheelerFTR will wrestle each other one-on-one in an #OwenHart Men’s Tournament Qualifier Match! Your special guest commentator: @CMPunk Dax vs Cash on #AEWDynamite LIVE this Wednesday @ 8pm ET/ 7pm CT on TBS

AEW has done a great job so far with the Owen Hart Tournament. The company pitted Harwood and Wheeler against each other because they both are great admirers of Owen and Bret.

Bret and Owen had technical masterpieces in the WWE (then WWF) and AEW fraternity knows exactly how valuable their contributions are to the pro wrestling industry. Punk himself is a walking Bret Hart tribute. We’ll have to wait till Wednesday to witness the magic inside the ring.
