AEW and NJPW are finally having their big crossover event. The much-anticipated “Forbidden Door” pay-per-view event takes place June 26th at the United Center in Chicago. AEW President Tony Khan made the announcement this past Wednesday on Dynamite.

Fans have for long wanted a pay-per-view crossover between the two promotions. AEW and New Japan have been exchanging talents for the past couple of months. NJPW star Tomohiro Ishii wrestled Adam Cole tonight on Rampage. You can check out the results right here.

It seems that not everyone in AEW is impressed that the crossover event is taking place. MJF took a blunt approach when he asked people to stop tagging him in fantasy matches for the show. The Salt of the Earth does what he wants and no one can tell him the other way.

Stop booking me and tagging me in “dream matches” for the forbidden door show. Not doing it.

AEW and NJPW will reveal the card for the “Forbidden Door” event in the buildup to the show. Current IWGP World Heavyweight Champion Kazuchika Okada recently revealed the he won’t be attending the show due to his wife’s birthday, which falls on June 28th.
