“Hangman” Adam Page is having a very strong run as AEW champion. After a years-long story arc finally saw him defeat Kenny Omega to become world champion, Page has defeated every challenger in his way. Fans have backed Hangman because of his relatable, “every man” character.

The AEW champion said that is by design. Adam Page recently talked with Chris Van Vliet on “Insight” where he discussed his character. Hangman noted that with him, what you see is what you get.

The “Anxious Millenial Cowboy” is simply a reflection of Adam’s imperfections. Page said the character is purely him. He’s not perfect, but that’s what makes it work.

“All of me is the character.

It’s very weird and difficult to do, but it is also cathartic, like this is sh*tty, but this is me.

I have never been a perfect person, but I just put it out there.”

Adam Page appears to be on a collision course with CM Punk. Punk is gunning for the AEW world title. The two crossed paths on last night’s episode of Dynamite. The slowly-building story is likely to culminate in an epic championship match as we kick off the build to the Double or Nothing PPV in Las Vegas.
