The RAW after WrestleMania is usually filled with surprises. This past Monday Night RAW was no exception. The April 4th episode of the red brand saw the return of Elias, who debuted an almost unrecognizable look.

Elias returned to the red brand as his ‘younger brother’ Ezekiel. The 34-year-old interrupted Kevin Owens, who was in the middle of a promo. Owens barely recognized Elias and questioned his whereabouts.

The former musician refused Owens flat out that he was Elias and instead dragged him for lying and getting stunned on the first night of WrestleMania 38. Owens then asked him to leave. The crowd counted to 10 but it was Owens who left the ring.

Former WWE head writer Vince Russo is one of the many people who aren’t pleased with WWE’s decision to repackage Elias. During Legion Of Raw, Russo stated that he believes WWE intentionally did Elias dirty with the new gimmick.

“I’ve got to ask myself the question. Was this by design, so the crowd cr*p on it? Was this 1000% by design because, bro, there is a right way to do something, and there is a wrong way. This is the wrong way to do this, bro.

“There are certain things I can’t say here because I don’t want to get the talent in any hot water. Let me just put it that way. The bottom line is, they don’t know how to do anything. They don’t know how to do anything.”

A report came out last year where it was said that Elias’ new gimmick was shot down because he looked far too much like “Macho Man” Randy Savage. He was later seen backstage in WWE with no beard and cropped hair. The story was exclusively reported by Ringside News.
