WWE is known to make changes for any reason or antoher. WrestleMania is no exception. The company originally scheduled for the tag team match between The New Day (Xavier Woods and Kofi Kingston) and Sheamus and Ridge Holland (with Butch) to take place on the opening night of WrestleMania 38.

The match was eventually dropped because several matches on the show went longer than planned. WWE have now advertised the match to take place tonight on Sunday.

Both Sheamus and Kofi Kingston took to Twitter to share their reactions to WWE dropping their match. Kofi expressed his disappointment but added that the participants would use it to propel them forward.

WWE presumably wanted the bout to be a six-man tag team match between all three members of the New Day and Sheamus, Holland and Butch (fka Pete Dunne), but had to drop it following Big E’s nasty injury.

Tonight’s WrestleMania will feature eight matches in total. The main event will feature WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns and WWE Champion in a winner-take-all title unification match. Read the card for night two, right here.
