Bryan Danielson is on a path to introduce violence in All Elite Wrestling. The 40-year-old has found an equally-terrorizing partner in Jon Moxley and together they are set to wreck havoc in the promotion.

There was a point in Danielson’s career where he wasn’t about violence and instead gravitated towards motivation. This portion of his career would go on to create the ‘Yes Movement’ that culminated at WrestleMania 30 in 2014.

As Danielson recalled during a recent interview with Wrestling Observer Radio, he got the “Yes!” chants from UFC fighter Diego Sanchez. Danielson obnoxiously started the “Yes!” chants during his brief heel turn in 2011.

The chants eventually found their way outside WWE’s umbrella and Hunter Pence even lead one of the chants, alongside Danielson, during the San Francisco Giants’ World Series Victory Parade in 2014.

“Hunter Pence had no idea it was from me, let alone that I got it from Diego Sanchez. It wasn’t like he was a big fan. He was like, ‘Yeah, that thing is really cool. Thanks.’ It’s not like we exchanged numbers or anything. That was kind of all there was to it.”

The former WWE World Heavyweight Champion said WWE didn’t capitalize on the opportunity to promote the “Yes!” chants despite them echoing on the World Series Victory Parade.

“The interesting to me about that is, you have the World Series Champions doing the ‘Yes!’ chant and they didn’t really make mention of it on (WWE) TV, which I thought was a bit…there weren’t many times where I felt like WWE didn’t have my back, but that was one of the things where I was like, ‘If the World Series Champions were doing John Cena’s ‘You Can’t See Me,’ you would see so much of it.”

We’ll have to see what is next for Bryan Danielson in AEW, but he certainly forged quite a path for himself in WWE. Those “Yes!” chants also remained and became a much greater part of pro wrestling in the process.
