Damian Priest had solid run in NXT and many fans would agree with this fact as well. He also won the NXT North American Championship and competed in memorable matches during his time there. It seems Priest opened up about getting advice from Triple H.

Priest was called up to the main roster during last year’s Royal Rumble match, where he had an excellent performance. After that, he partnered up with Bad Bunny for a few months, which culminated in a tag team match at WrestleMania 37.

Priest eventually won the WWE United States Championship and held it for a long time until he lost it to Finn Balor. While speaking to ViBe & Wrestling, Damian Priest talked about the advice Triple H gave him. Priest admitted he found it difficult to understand the advice at first.

“I want to see the person I’m seeing here in the ring. When you’re between the ropes you’re playing the role of a wrestler, but I don’t want that, I want to see someone else. When you learn to be yourself, you will have an amazing career.

When he told me that, I didn’t understand because I thought, how is that? How are you telling me that I don’t know how to be myself? Until one day, I realized what he was saying and I understood everything. I don’t know why but it’s hard to be yourself in front of the camera because it changes the way you talk, the way you walk, everything, and the day came when I relaxed and began to enjoy myself.”

It was previously reported that Triple H is unlikely to ever wrestle again. Triple H’s cardiac event was also said to have been very, very, very serious. We will have to wait and see when The King Of Kings will make his return to the company as it is unlikely to happen anytime soon. In the meantime, he influenced a ton of Superstars who are still doing their thing.
