Eddie Edwards is no stranger to the world of professional wrestling. A 20-year veteran, Eddie has wrestled in various promotions including Ring of Honor (ROH) and Impact Wrestling.

Impact Wrestling recently disclosed that 38-year-old Eddie has signed a new contract with the company. As of this writing, the concerned parties haven’t disclosed the terms of the deal.

The former Impact World Champion turned heel at last month’s No Surrender pay-per-view event. Eddie rushed to the ring during the Honor No More versus Team Impact match, only to cost his Impact brethren the match.

He explained his actions during a hard-hitting promo on the February 24th episode of Impact Wrestling. Eddie would elaborate on his shocking heel turn during a recent interview with Sports Illustrated.

“The company turned its back on me. That’s what makes this different. It’s a completely different chance for me to express myself. I’ve been here for almost eight years, and I’ve done a lot. And there is still a lot more for me to prove.”

This is definitely an interesting point in Eddie’s career. The heel turn has done wonders for many generic baby faces. Roman Reigns is the latest example. We’ll have to wait and see how the Eddie heel turn plays out.
