AJ “Top Dolla” Francis recently had a feud over sneakers. Matt and Nick Jackson dragged NXT superstars’ sneaker game last Fall. Top Dolla responded with diss track that was not very well-received.

The feud went back and forth a little bit, but nothing ever came of it. The Young Bucks continued their careers in AEW as normal. Top Dolla has been working on several projects since being released by WWE.

Francis recently appeared on the Public Enemies Podcast. During the interview, “sneakergate” came up. Top Dolla doesn’t think fans or The Young Bucks would act that way if they saw him in person.

Because of [the sneaker controversy], AEW fans hate me. People that work there don’t like me. People always got things to say about me.

I don’t care because I know all these people with slick remarks… Internet cornballs and wrestlers alike, if they saw me in person, they wouldn’t act like that. My memory is long and I’m going to be booked on a lot of shows, and when I see you you’re going to have to stand on that.

Top Dolla thinks he might run into some of the critics somewhere along the line. The former Hit Row member doesn’t think he will get as much negative feedback in person. So far, he hasn’t crossed paths with The Young Bucks.

Time will tell if there will ever be a true resolution to the sneaker controversy. AJ Francis says he doesn’t care either way. Top Dolla is just out there doing things his way.
