There is no doubt that Cody Rhodes helped out AEW significantly, both inside the squared circle and backstage as well. It is not an exaggeration to say he helped build AEW into what it is right now over the past couple of years. It seems a pro wrestling veteran has doubts about Cody Rhodes’ booking in WWE.

As reported earlier, Cody Rhodes and his wife Brandi have departed from the company last week, in a move that came out of left field and baffled just about everyone in the pro wrestling world.

Since his departure, many fans have been wondering whether Rhodes will make his way to WWE as he has already been in contact with the company. While speaking on the recent Jim Cornette Experience, Jim Cornette talked about Cody Rhodes possibly making his way to WWE.

Jim Cornette expressed his doubts over Cody Rhodes being booked as a main event level talent, adding that Rhodes might be an upper mid-card talent. He also doubted WWE will ever book Rhodes to defeat Roman Reigns or Brock Lesnar.

“Do you honestly believe WWE will hire a talent who was a champion in AEW, who was one of the top guys and has a number of victories over some of the others and push him to the moon and have him start beating the top stars in the WWE? I highly doubt that.

I think Cody will be a very well paid upper mid-card star because they want the information, and they want the visual, the optic, but also they will want to get to work on the card. Rhodes will not be the be-all and end-all of their problems on the card, and WWE really isn’t going to have an AEW guy going there to get any victories over Roman Reigns or Brock Lesnar or Bobby Lashley anytime soon.”

AEW President Tony Khan also believes Cody Rhodes has something else in the works after his AEW departure. We will have to wait and see if Rhodes truly will end up in WWE or not.
