Mickie James made wrestling history when she crossed over from Impact Wrestling as their reigning champion to compete in the WWE Royal Rumble. The two sides had to come to an agreement to make it happen. WWE had plenty of restrictions on what could and could not be said. Mickie was just happy to be a pioneer.

James was let go by WWE in the Spring of 2021. When WWE released Mickie James, she didn’t feel as positively about the company. James said she was sent all of her belongings in trash bag.

Later that year, Mickie ripped WWE President Nick Khan. The Knockouts Champion even went so far as to make fun of her appearance. In recent interview with Sportskeeda Wrestling, James said she’s received several apologies, including one from Khan.

“Nick Khan came up to me at the show and apologized. I don’t even know that he was a part of, like, I think he was a part of the company. But I hadn’t met him or knew who he was at that time because it was early transitional days.

But even he apologized to me at TV, ‘This should’ve never happened.’ I agree it should’ve never happened. It shouldn’t have happened 10 years ago and now it’ll never happen again.”

The hatchet appears to have been buried. Mickie James was able to let bygones be bygones and make some history along the way. James is now focused on her duties with Impact Wrestling.
