Former WWE NXT coach, Scott Garland, better known as Scotty 2 Hotty recent revealed that he had wanted to leave the company long before his actual departure. In a conversation with Fightful, Garland explained his reasoning.

It seems that Garland had been considering leaving the promotion for six months before he actually requested his release. Reportedly, Garland took issue with a lot of changes made by the company, and simply wasn’t having fun working there any more.

One of the primary reasons why Garland wanted to leave was because of WWE releasing significant portion of their staff from their contracts. Garland stated that as a result he lost a lot of his joy for the job.

In addition, Garland revealed that he and the other coaches had not been informed about the departures prior to them happening. Garland is of the opinion that this was not right, since a lot of wrestlers who were let go were their students.

Garland is far from the only one who took issue with WWE releasing a bunch of wrestlers from their contracts. The promotion received a lot of criticism for the move. Hopefully, things will work out differently in the future.
