WWE has brought many legends and industry veterans as surprise Royal Rumble entrants. Mr. Perfect Curt Hennig, “Rowdy” Roddy Piper and Booker T all appeared in the rumble as surprise entrants.

Speaking of Booker T, the former King of the Ring received a roaring ovation when he appeared as surprise entrant at Royal Rumble 2011. Even CM Punk, who was with WWE at the time, couldn’t fathom the return of the “five time, five time WCW champion.”

Fans may not see Booker appear at this year’s Royal Rumble. The word has come directly from the former World Heavyweight Champion’s mouth, who says he hasn’t received an invitation from WWE to appear at the event as an entrant.

“I have to this point, not received an invitation. My thing is, I always look for the invitation, I am always checking the mail, but I am not one seeking out being in the Rumble or anything like that,” he spoke on his “Hall of Fame” podcast.

“I don’t have any itch. If I would have received an invitation for the Rumble, I would have prepared for it. I may already be prepared, but I would have been ready for it. I would have shined.

“But no, I am not going to be in the Rumble, I am going to be there doing my job, talking about it. Making sure these guys get shined, make sure I put them over real nice, but that’s about as far as it’s going to go.”

The WWE Hall of Famer also revealed how the company kept his 2011 rumble appearance a secret, noting that he appeared at the event “pretty much directly from TNA” and that he spoke to Kevin Nash, who also showed up at the event, about his surprise appearance.
