Kofi Kingston has had a storied career in WWE. After years as mired in the mid-card and competing for secondary titles, Kofimania took over and Kingston became the WWE Champion in 2019. Kingston has been with WWE since 2005, but he’s showing no signs of stopping.

With the Royal Rumble approaching, Kofi Kingston has been on a lot of fan’s minds. The Ghana native always has some wild trick to keep himself from being eliminated. Kofi’s balancing acts have become a Rumble match tradition.

Kingston recently talked with the Huntington Herald-Dispatch about how he’s adjusted to try and extend his in-ring career. Kofi knows he can’t wrestle forever. Kingston said he rolls with the punches, and even joked that he could get fired tomorrow.

“Part of working smart is finding ways to entertain people. I realize part of the job is to put the body on the line. Old-time legends come back and have that little arch in the back. Man, that’s probably my future body. The body’s not supposed to do what we have to do. The WWE Universe is amazingly supportive. I’m willing to make that sacrifice.

I’ll know when it’s time, I’ve done all I can do. Not having fun anymore, when my body might give out or I might get fired tomorrow. All about the moment and enjoying the moment while I’m here. (If you’re) thinking about the end, you’re not enjoying this really unique experience. It takes away from the present. I’ll treasure these days, cherish this part of life and try to enjoy it as long as I can.”

The WWE Universe certainly appreciates Kofi Kingston’s hard work and sacrifices. They’re looking forward to seeing what he’s going to bring to the table at the WWE Royal Rumble after Kingston missed last year’s match. Kofi is just taking it one match at a time and trying to soak everything in while he can.
