Grayson Waller Claims Responsibility For WALTER’s Controversial Name Change

WALTER had been a dominant force in WWE ever since he made his debut back in January 2019. The former NXT UK Champion is also the longest-reigning champion in modern WWE. Many WWE Superstars want piece of him, but now they will go after the man with a new name.

Many fans were concerned after it was revealed WWE copyrighted the name Gunther Stark, as it was related to someone who actually served on one of Hitler’s U-Boats. That is exactly what ended up happening in the end.

As seen on this weeks episode of NXT 2.0, WALTER faced off against Roderick Strong in a singles match. After defeating Strong, WALTER revealed that he is now called Gunther, which drew the ire of fans in huge way.

NXT star Grayson Waller took to Twitter and hilariously claimed responsibility for WALTER’s name change, joking that he spoke to his lawyers about the similarity between their names.

“Just so everyone knows, Walter was just too close to Waller, so I spoke to my lawyers, and they are GOOD at what they do. You’re welcome.”

Even Virgil recently said that WALTER should be embarrassed about his name change to Gunther. We will have to wait and see how Gunther will now fare in NXT 2.0 in the coming months.
