Fenix Returning Sooner Than Expected After Recent Injury

The Lucha Bros defended their AEW World Tag Team Championships against The Jurassic Express in the main event on the debut episode of AEW Dynamite on TBS. The titles changed hands when all was said and done, but it wasn’t without tragedy. It seems Fenix might be coming back sooner than expected.

During the tag team match, Luchasaurus dropped Rey Fenix with a Chokeslam through the table. The spot didn’t go as planned as Fenix landed directly on his arm, as it bent in an awkward direction upon landing.

According to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, it was said that Fenix is hoping to make his return in the middle of February. This is certainly earlier than expected after the scary injury.

Fenix already commented on the injury and stated that no one was to blame for it. Fenix also added that he will come back as better version of himself. It remains to be seen what the company will have planned for Fenix once he returns.
