NXT 2.0 made its debut in September last year and it promised an entirely new outlook on the product. While it did bring about quite a few changes, not all of them were met with a positive reception. It seems Bully Ray has no interest in the product.

With a fresh look and coat of paint, came a new sense of direction which has seen a new set of WWE Superstars, especially the likes of Bron Breakker. However, not quite a few talents have yet to truly connect with the fans.

While there are many who aren’t a fan of the new NXT, there are those who like the new direction the company is taking. While speaking on Ringsiders Wrestling, former WWE Superstar Top Dolla talked about NXT 2.0.

Top Dolla stated that he prefers NXT 2.0 due to its focus on characters, as many shows focus solely on the in-ring aspect and there is an abundance of that.

“I love NXT 2.0 because people think that because NXT the older version was very wrestle-centric, there’s more than enough other things that you can watch if that’s what you’re tuning in to watch. There’s more than enough of those. If that’s what you’re in it for then there’s more than enough of those.

But NXT 2.0 is heavy character-centric. That’s the wrestling I grew up on, that I love. Some of the most ridiculous characters were our favorite characters, like The Godfather. To pretend that I don’t like that would be inauthentic.”

Even Scarlett Bordeaux recently stated that NXT 2.0 is sterile. Sean Waltman previously criticized NXT 2.0 for having 60-year-olds being in charge of the product. We will have to wait and see if the product will improve or not in the future.
