Bob Backlund is a WWE legend unlike any other. Backlund wrestled for the company between 1976 and 1984 and then had a second run in the 1990’s where he became the company’s unlikely world champion. Bob’s legitimate amateur wrestling background and professionalism in the ring made him a generational talent.

Backlund still shows up at WWE events from time to time. Fans have reported running into him randomly in the concourses of various arenas that have housed Raw, Smackdown, and premium live events. Bob will always be a company man.

Bruce Prichard is one of Vince McMahon’s most trusted advisors. Prichard most famously portrayed Brother Love in the 1980’s and 1990’s. His main role these days is as the Executive Director for WWE’s main television properties.

The two met up at last night’s WWE SmackDown at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut. A fan snapped a photo of the two chatting as Bruce came over to visit Backlund in the stands. They appeared to be very happy to see each other.

Bob Backlund is a Connecticut native. It didn’t take much for him to travel to the event. The former WWE Champion makes his home in nearby Glastonbury.

Backlund appears to have attended SmackDown as a fan. The WWE Hall of Famer had no problem sitting with the people and enjoying the show. You never know who you’ll run into when you take in a WWE live event!

Ringside News exclusively reported that Bruce Prichard missed several television tapings. It’s good to see that he was back for the blue brand this week, and he had an old friend to catch up with as well.
