Hook, who is the son of AEW commentator and former ECW and WWE star Taz, has been featured on AEW television as the silent enforcer of Team Taz. Many fans never thought he would ever wrestle. It seems Cody Rhodes sees huge thing in Hook’s future.

Hook impressed many fans in his in-ring debut. His debut did massive numbers on social media and racked up larger numbers than even Bron Breakker’s did. AEW held off his debut for a good reason as well.

Hook had his second match on AEW Rampage where he faced off against Bear Bronson of Bear Country. He defeated him in three minutes and since then people couldn’t stop talking about Hook. He also gained popularity thanks to the ‘Send Hook’ memes.

While speaking to Brandon F. Walker on Rasslin, Cody Rhodes talked about Hook’s future in AEW. Rhodes stated that he doesn’t want Hook to be only seen as a meme wrestler.

“I think there was a natural anticipation for him and then you’d hear people refer to him as the ‘meme wrestler’ that was kind of becoming the whole ‘send Hook’ and that is not a bad thing. If people are excited, they have an interest, the thing you have to do, not just Hook himself, but as a company we have to turn that into, ‘No, no, he’s not a joke, he’s not this inside gag.’ He’s actually going to be a wonderful pro wrestler himself and in the first outings that Hook has had, he’s been able to do that. That’s what’s so delicate about it.”

Hook is set to square off against Aaron Solo of The Factory on this week’s episode of AEW Rampage. We will have to wait and see how he will fare in the match.
