Gable Steveson’s terrific performance at the Tokyo Olympics helped make him a well-known name in the world of sports. WWE went the extra mile in getting Steveson to sign contract as even Vince McMahon personally met up with Steveson to sign him. It seems Steveson hinted at a feud with Brock Lesnar recently as well.

WWE finally managed to sign Gable Steveson to contract last year and put all speculation to rest as far as where the 21-year-old will go next. It was also reported that Gable Steveson signed a unique contract with WWE, which is exclusive in nature.

While speaking during a special Q&A episode of The Kurt Angle Podcast, Kurt Angle talked about Gable Steveson’s future in WWE. Angle stated that he doesn’t think Steveson will succeed in WWE unless he has a great character.

“Gable Steveson is a phenomenal athlete, especially for his size. The kid is a super athlete, I think he’s going to adapt well to pro wrestling. The only issue is I don’t know his personality. I don’t know how open he is, if he’s able to come up with a great character that people will relate to or that people will absolutely hate.

You can be a great wrestler but if you don’t have the character and the promo skills, you’re going to be stuck in the mud. Someone like Gable Steveson, who is an Olympic Gold Medalist, they’re going to bring him in larger than life. A lot of pressure is going to be put on him just like it was for me. I think Gable is going to do a good job, I think he’s going to adapt very well and I think he’s going to have a lot of success in WWE.”

The company is also setting up remote training facility for Gable. Even Kurt Angle said he would love to be Gable Steveson’s manager. It remains to be seen whether Steveson will succeed in WWE or not.
