Big Swole has single-handedly become one of the biggest topics of discussion in recent memory thanks to her calling out AEW for their lack of diversity of talents. She also used WWE as an example of how proper diversity can benefit a company. It seems an AEW extras coordinator reacted to the controversy as well.

The discussion took a sour turn after AEW President Tony Khan caused lot of controversy with his response to Big Swole’s callout. Khan said that he let Swole’s contract expire because she wasn’t good enough for him.

Khan’s comment certainly irked a lot of fans and led to a lot of backlash as they couldn’t fathom how Kha could say something like that. AEW extras coordinator Shawn Dean gave his take on the matter of diversity on Twitter as well. He defended the company as he showed that progress was being made in that regard.

Shawn Dean @AEW Extras Coordinator…my official title in #AEW behind the scenes, a black male in the office, giving as many opportunities to minority talents as I can every single week. On the community team…raising awareness for inner city kids any chance I get…

The things we are expecting can and will happen…Trust the process

Bro it’s not me doing any clown shoes, no dancing, none of that…Im part of the diversity fam…that’s all I’m saying…Swole feels how she feels..more power to her..I’ll never take away her feelings…this is me showing that I’m apart of the some diversity and working to help it.

We will have to wait and see if this current controversy will bring about a huge change in how the company presents their Black talents or not.
