Jim Cornette Questions Why Fans Would Ever Like Cody Rhodes

Cody Rhodes is one of the top stars in the company and has been one of the mainstays of AEW television since day one. He is also a prominent figure backstage in the company and ensures the product is as good as it can be. It seems Jim Cornette is confused by Cody Rhodes’ gimmick.

For the past few months, Cody Rhodes has been on the receiving end of a lot of boos from fans. Due to this, many have expressed their desire to have Cody Rhodes turn heel.

This included instances where fans said the r-word to Cody Rhodes on numerous occasions during show. It only got worse from there as there was outrage after Cody Rhodes defeated Sammy Guevara for the TNT Championship during the Christmas edition of AEW Rampage

While speaking on his Drive-Thru podcast, Jim Cornette talked about Cody Rhodes’ current booking in AEW. He questioned why anyone would even like Cody Rhodes, especially after he defeated Sammy Guevara, who is one of the company’s top babyfaces.

“Cody Rhode’s team is celebrating in the ring that he has defeated one of the most popular babyfaces in the company, for the title that he previously held and this is not an on-purpose heel turn. Just why? He just defeated one of the most popular guys on the roster after already being booed out of the building everywhere and this is somehow supposed to make people like him?”

We will have to wait and see if AEW will finally pull the trigger and make Cody Rhodes a heel once and for all, now that he is the TNT Champion.
