Johnny Gargano has been touted as the face of NXT by many fans due to his excellent feuds with the likes of Tommaso Ciampa and Adam Cole. He has had various nicknames such as Johnny Wrestling, Johnny TakeOver and more and they are all for good reason. It seems Booker T is baffled by Gargano’s decision to leave WWE.

As seen on a previous episode of NXT 2.0, Gargano made it clear that his status in NXT is up in the air. However, many fans realized that it was truly the end of the line for Johnny Gargano. That turned out to be true as he is now officially free agent.

On his way out, he was viciously attacked by Grayson Waller, making him the biggest heel in NXT. On top of that, Kyle O’Reilly also left NXT as his contract had run out.

While speaking on his Hall of Fame podcast, Booker T talked about Johnny Gargano and Kyle O’Reilly leaving WWE just to have matches with other pro wrestlers. He said that it simply baffles him Gargano and O’Reilly would leave their secure job in WWE for that.

“When I hear these guys say ‘I want to leave a company, and I cannot wait to go and have a match with x and y, I just cannot wait to have a match with this wrestler. The match with this wrestler is going to be a five star match.’ When people start thinking about the matches more than taking care of their own family and how much money they can make when they walk away from wrestling because it is not going to last forever – it just simply baffles the hell out of me. It becomes about a damn match. I loved every match I was in, every performance I gave. But none of it surpassed me taking care of my family.”

Johnny Gargano also recently hinted that his feud with Tommaso Ciampa is not over just yet. Johnny Gargano also recently stated that he will work wherever fans call for him to work. On the other hand, Kyle O’Reilly made his debut in AEW as well.
