WWE has released talent in 2021 at an incredible rate. Even top stars such as Bray Wyatt found that their big money contracts meant nothing if the company decided they were ready to move on. AEW and Impact have reaped the benefits, bringing in some of those wrestlers to solidify their home-grown rosters. How likely is Wyatt to find a new pro wrestling home?

Tony Khan is always keeping his eyes peeled for hot free agents. He brought in CM Punk, Bryan Danielson, Adam Cole, and more within the last year. While he missed on Kevin Owens, Khan has teased that more big names are coming.

Windham Rotunda is one of the names that is always associated with AEW. So far, he has not publicly spoken about his next steps in pro wrestling. In this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer gave an update on Windham’s future in the squared circle.

“Windham, the former Bray Wyatt, is another name that has been talked about. The last we heard was that he had the movie gig and didn’t want to come back so soon. Whether he comes back here or Impact, I don’t know at this point.

He may not be in a rush to do anything given he had one of the top five or six contracts in WWE so unless he was living incredibly large, he shouldn’t have financial issues forcing him back until he feels like it. At one point he was apart on money from both promotions.”

Windham has the luxury to take his time and be selective due to the money he made while he was with WWE. He’s trying out some new things such as acting. Until he gets the right offer financially and creatively, he’s happy to bide his time.

Wherever he shows up, Windham will bring plenty of hype. The former WWE Champion was one of the most popular stars in the company before his release. Fans who are hoping to see him soon might not want to hold their breath. Windham Rotunda is living on his own terms.
