WWE has been releasing tons of stars and other members of its staff over the last couple of years. Notably, the promotion invited a lot of criticism when it recently let go of several employees within very short span of time. They brought Johnny Ace back in recent memory and he is now in a big spot backstage.

Former WWE star, Viktor, who was released in 2019, recently made an appearance on the “Two Man Power Trip of Wrestling” podcast. Among other things, Viktor shared details of his WWE journey, beginning with the story of how he got hired.

Viktor, who had been with WWE since 2011, recalled his experiences interacting with John Laurinaitis, stating that “the Johnny Ace that [he] first met when [he] was trying to get hired was not the same guy [he] knew as a producer once [he] was hired.”

Viktor elaborated, stating that while “it wasn’t like the first one that [he] met was like a d*ck or something,” he did seem quite arrogant. All this changed once Viktor was hired, and Johnny would often make a particular statement of humility to the extras.

Hey you kids probably don’t even know who I am. I was only ever over in Japan and wasn’t even really over there. How did I ever get to be Vince’s right-hand man? Doesn’t make sense. But here I am.

Viktor fondly remembered Laurinaitis as one of his favorite producers, praising him for always having ideas for everybody. Following the recent whirlwind of criticism, it is certainly heartening to hear a positive story about the WWE.
