Von Wagner shockingly turned on Kyle O’Reilly after the two lost their NXT Tag Team title match to Imperium at Sunday night’s NXT WarGames pay-per-view. Kyle wasted no time in challenging the rookie superstar to a steel cage match on Tuesday’s NXT 2.0. Now, WWE has shared video from after the incident where Von Wagner furthered the story between the two.

The former UCF Knights tight end happily accepted O’Reilly’s challenge. He told a backstage WWE crew that the war was just beginning. O’Reilly later continued the build to the matchup on his Twitter.

“Kyle, you think I’m stupid. You wanna leave that cage up come Tuesday? I love that idea. You might’ve saw it coming tonight, but come Tuesday, you’re going to have nowhere to run and nowhere to hide. My war has just begun!”

O’Reilly took to Twitter where he said he’s going to stretch Von Wagner come Tuesday. The match has some added intrigue, as Kyle’s WWE contract is set to expire. He and Johnny Gargano are expected to make their final NXT appearances on Tuesday’s show.

While neither appears to have re-signed, it’s not because WWE hasn’t tried. The company has offered both wrestlers multi-year contracts to stay with NXT. Tuesday night’s NXT 2.0 broadcast will give us a lot more insight into what might happen.

In the meantime, it appears WWE sees a lot in Von Wagner. If he gets an easy victory over Kyle O’Reilly, it is almost assured that he’s leaving. Johnny Gargano plans to address his future directly with the crowd. You can check out Von Wagner’s promo below.
