Mandy Rose has revealed that she was the one to come up with the romance angle with fellow WWE superstar Otis and that pitching the storyline to Vince McMahon earned her a lot of respect.

The 31-year-old spoke to Sean Sapp of Fightful Pro Wrestling for an exclusive interview. She revealed that she approached the boss with the idea of romancing Otis on-screen.

“When you have a creative idea or something, go right to Vince. I would be by his door, just like everyone else and hopefully get in there,” she said. She continued: “Obviously, he’s a very busy man and very hard to get to. Sometimes you wait all day, literally, and he’d just walk out and you don’t want to bother him. There were a few interactions I had with Vince, for sure.”

Then Mandy Rose went into how that amazing idea came to be.

“There was one right at the beginning when I first got to Raw. The one with the Otis storyline, I actually went in there and pitched that whole thing. I think that’s when, coming from the reaction I got from Vince, is when I think he was like, ‘that’s an amazing idea’ and I took the initiative to go in there and come up with this idea and have a plan for how it ends and the whole storyline and how it leads up to it.”

The Toxic Attraction leader said that not only did Vince approve the storyline, but he was also appreciative of the fact that she approached him with the initiative in the first place.

The Mandy-Otis storyline is considered one of the most engaging and entertaining storylines of the Reality Era. It continued for several months and culminated with the Otis vs Dolph Ziggler match at last year’s WrestleMania. Here’s a clip from the storyline:
