Paul Wight Says Match Against Shaquille O’Neal Close Than Ever In AEW

Paul Wight is a true veteran in the pro wrestling world as he worked in the business for well over two decades. He’s been working in AEW for the past few months and his performance has been stellar as a commentator. NBA Legend Shaquille O’Neal made it clear he wants a match against Paul Wight. Now it seems the match might finally happen.

Paul Wight previously made it clear that he wants the dream match between the two to take place in AEW. The likelihood of the match is now certainly high from the looks of it.

While speaking with Inside The Ropes, Paul Wight talked about facing off against Shaquille O’Neal. Wight made it clear that he believes a match will finally happen as the chance for it happening is the best it has ever been in AEW.

I think with AEW we don’t have as much red tape. I mean, Shaq’s already competed in AEW. I think this is an opportunity for us to have that spectacle match and have some fun with it. Honestly, I think it’s closer to happening than it’s ever been

A match between the two was first teased back in 2009 on an episode of Monday Night RAW. After that, O’Neal and Paul Wight had another interaction at WrestleMania 32, where they competed in the Andre The Giant Battle Memorial.

We will have to wait and see just when the two behemoths will face off against each other as it will definitely be a match for the ages.
