Jim Ross is a veteran in the pro wrestling world, as he made a name for himself as a commentator in WWE, delivering some of the most iconic moments in the history of pro wrestling. Ross worked in WWE for several years, which is why he knows how Vince McMahon functions. It seems he recently gave props to McMahon as well.
Big E truly had a long and difficult road to the top of WWE. After a solid run on NXT, he was called up to the main roster but was eventually lost in the shuffle. Big E also recently talked about his character in WWE being seen as a big black man, but being so much more than that.
Big E ended up cashing in his Money In The Bank briefcase on Bobby Lashley and defeated him for the WWE Championship, signalling the start of his era of Monday Night RAW.
While speaking on his Grilling JR Podcast, Jim Ross talked about Big E’s recent comments regarding his character in WWE. Ross stated he is very proud of Big E and gave props to Vince McMahon for using minority wrestlers properly, thereby broadening the scope.
“We have role models as kids. All the star wrestlers were white. Vince has done a great job of broadening the scope. Using minorities and inter-genders and all of that stuff, I don’t get involved in that stuff. Either you’re a good wrestler or you’re not. I don’t give two s**ts what your political affiliation is or your sexual persuasion is. I don’t care and nobody should care.”
Big E has become a beacon of hope for many people after becoming the WWE Champion. Now that he has retained his title against Drew McIntyre, we will have to wait and see who his next opponent will be.
