WWE released loads of employees, including WWE Superstars, over the past several months. This recent trend jumpstarted on April 15th, the same day that they axed several people last year. The IIconics and more were part of those cuts. Now it seems they explained why they signed with Impact Wrestling.

Peyton Royce and Billie Kay were released back in April. Many fans were shocked at this outcome as they still had a lot of potential. After many months of waiting, Cassie Lee and Jessica McKay finally signed with Impact Wrestling.

They will make their debut with the company at October 23rd’s Bound for Glory pay-per-view event. Cassie Lee and Jessica McKay will be challenging Jessicka Havoc and Rosemary for their Impact Knockouts Tag Team Titles at Bound for Glory in Las Vegas.

While speaking on Busted Open Radio, Cassie Lee and Jessica McKay talked about their reasons for signing with Impact Wrestling. The company’s knockouts division was ultimately one of the deciding factors.

McKay: “Cass and I, we spoke about this a lot where the possibilities where were we could end up. It really came down to IMPACT having such an amazing tag team division, first and foremost. That’s what we wanted to do and that’s where we feel like we fit the best.

“When we made the decision to join IMPACT, it just felt right. After WWE, having that feeling of, ‘this feels really good,’ was so important for us. We’ve heard nothing but incredible things about IMPACT. We’re super excited to join the locker room and be a part of it.”

Lee: “That is our complete focus. We’re going for the Knockouts Tag Team Championships and that’s been Jess’ and my dream for as long as I can remember. We want to create this women’s tag team division that is the best. I really feel that the Knockouts division is up there with the best women’s division across all platforms. I feel honored to be a part of that and to be part of a tag team division like that, it means everything to Jess and I.”

It remains to be seen how the IInspiration will fare in Impact Wrestling as a title shot right off the bat is certainly a great way to start their journey. Fans would love to see them become the champions as well.
