WWE can finally brag that they’ve defeated the National Football League. A recent survey has named the wrestling giant one of the 50 most marketable sports properties in the world.

WWE came in at #20 on the list, generating a marketability opportunity score of 23.1 They were ahead of UFC (#27) and the NFL (#37). The company also beat out the entire top-tiers of soccer in Italy and Germany.

The companies with the highest opportunity scores were those that ranked highest in marketability based on internal data of sports marketing firm SportsPro. The analysis ranked the FIFA World Cup as the most marketable sporting event, team, league, or property in the world.

The news is welcomed by the company, who posted about the survey on their Twitter. Recent rumors of a potential sale of the company coupled with repeated talent cuts as a cost saving measure as well as an executive fire sale on company stock have shaken some people’s confidence in the brand. Surely, Vince McMahon sees this as vindication.
