Vince McMahon’s name started trending on social media today for a very interesting reason. AEW shared an article that took a direct shot at the Chairman of the Board.

AEW’s official Twitter account shared an article from Variety called, “Vince McMahon Is Finally Getting What He Hasn’t Seen in 20 Years: Competition.” This obvious shot at McMahon was not lost on the Internet Wrestling Community.

It didn’t take long for Vince McMahon’s name to start trending all over the IWC. Some fans had controversial takes on the situation, but what else should we expect from Twitter?

“Saw Vince McMahon trending and I thought the bastard finally died,” one fan commented when noticing the recent surge in Vince McMahon tweets. Others just sent out tweets of embarrassing Vince McMahon moments like when he dropped the N-Bomb on his own show or when he booked “The Lesbians.”

Another fan pointed out a very interesting note about the article that started the whole trend today. “Since people keep tagging me in some article that AEW posted about Vince McMahon, Do some research on Gavin Bridge (the person who wrote the article) and his connections to Tony Khan & AEW. It will make more sense when you understand the person behind the article,” @WWEGareth pointed out.

We’ll have to see how far this one goes, but plenty of fans are having a good time mocking Mr. McMahon today. You can check out a variety of tweets below.
