The pro wrestling world saw a lot of cinematic matches over the past year or so, and the pandemic can be thanked for that. Companies needed to think outside the box in order produce unique matches. Mick Foley saw this trend and might have realized that the opportunity presented itself to have a match and not take so much physical punishment.

During Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer revealed that Mick Foley just stated at one of his stand-up comedy shows that he would be down to wrestle one more match, but it will have to be shot in a cinematic style. That was an interesting admission from the WWE Hall of Famer who had previously stated that he was 100% finished with physicality.

“You know Mick Foley said he would do a cinematic match? There was a comedy show and someone in the crowd asked for one more match, and he said, ‘I could do a cinematic match.’ That was just a couple of hours ago at the show.”

We’ll have to see if Mick Foley does get involved in any pro wrestling angles in the near future. If that happens then it is likely that a cinematic match is on the way, because he’s done with actual action in the ring. That isn’t to say a cinematic match isn’t possible, especially with all of the limitations that they can work around in that setup.
