WWE wanted Adam Cole on their main roster and they made some pitches to him, but Mr. Bay Bay decided to let his contract expire and he went to AEW. Ringside News exclusively reported that WWE wanted Cole to become heel manager, and it was later revealed that they wanted to pair him up with Keith Lee. That main roster call-up would have likely came with a big change to his look as well.

Cole also admitted that WWE wanted to change his name. After all, Michael Cole is already on the main roster and that could have caused confusion. The former NXT Champion would have also received a haircut, but he wasn’t into that.

According to a report fromFightful, WWE pitched a haircut for Adam Cole. They wanted him to establish a new look, but he had no interest in altering his signature appearance. Instead, Cole “made it clear” that he wasn’t down to chop off his hair.

Those in WWE praised Cole “for being transparent in what he did and didn’t like creatively.” He obviously didn’t want to go ahead with any of the pitches made to him, and that led to his exit from WWE.

AEW welcomed Adam Cole and his gimmick didn’t change at all. He is now back with the Superkliq and resurrected on Being The Elite. Odds are he does not regret his decision.
