Adam “Hangman” Page was set to be one of the top stars in AEW, but he never reached the top of the mountain. It seemed as if he was close to an AEW World Title match at All Out, but then he was taken off television. His wife is pregnant and about to give birth, so he got the time off. Still, Jim Cornette might have booked things differently for Hangman.

During Jim Cornette’s Drive Thru, Cornette opened up about AEW’s booking of Hangman Page and how they haven’t brought him to that level he needs to be at. He called their booking of Page “ridiculous” and said it’s been that way since the company started.

“Oh good god, at this point, Hangman Page, wonderful human being for sure, but his booking has been ridiculous since he started. They got Bryan Danielson now, they got CM Punk, they got Adam Cole, they may have Bray Wyatt coming. That’s why I said he should have the match in Chicago because I think that’s the last time we see him in the title picture for a while as he’s got outranked badly over the people that have just come in. It’s just silliness. And this was good for the top-level independent talent on TV doing the best they can, but now they are getting stars.”

You don’t need a hat to be a cowboy, but Hangman Page could use some better booking. We’ll have to see how AEW inserts Page back into the fold upon his return, because the company saw some big additions since his departure. Hopefully, they will be able to continue his story and eventual climb to the top once again.
