Miro is one of the biggest AEW superstars in the world of pro-wrestling. The wrestler used to be part of WWE as Rusev. He had a prolific run, and his characteristic style was wrestling barefoot. It all changed when one mishap forced him to adapt and start wearing boots.

The former WWE Superstar took to wearing shoes in the ring. Miro was asked at the Pittsburgh Comic Con about why he stopped wearing boots. He shockingly revealed that after he received an injury in a match against Ryback, he had to kiss his style of wrestling goodbye.

I tore my ankle. I had a match with Ryback and he gave me a back body drop outside the ring and as soon as I landed — I landed fine, but I was 315 pounds and my ankle just snapped, and all the ligaments, it tore everything around and ever since, I said, ‘No more.’ I put some shoes on. I loved (wrestling) barefoot. I was a huge fan of Umaga and always looked up to him. That was my tribute to him.

Miro started putting boots on in every match since his recovery from the injury. He wore boots in WWE and still continues to fight in AEW with the boots on. Miro has been on AEW since a while, and he recently commented on his wife Lana joining the roster as well.
